Sophia Bush Biography
Sophia Anna Bush was born on July 8th, 1982 in Pasadena, California, USA. She is the daughter of the famous celebrity photographer Charles William Bush and his wife Maureen Bush, a photography studio manager. Young Bush attended Westridge School for Girls (Pasadena) and the University of Southern California, where she served as the Social Chair for the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Throughout her schooling years, Sophia was very athletic. She was on the varsity volleyball team, and did not consider acting as a career until she graduated university.
Sophia Bush made her big screen debut in 2002 when she appeared in the comedy “Van Wilder” as Sally. Since then, she has made numerous guest appearances on television shows such as Nip/Tuck, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Punk’d, where she was tricked by her good friend Britany Snow. In 2003, Sophia landed the role of Brooke Davis on the show “One Tree Hill” which was one of The CW Networks biggest hit shows. There she gained international attention since “One Tree Hill” was The CW Networks biggest export. Bush has also been cast in many feature films such as “Supercross”, “Stay Alive”, “John Tucker Must Die”, and the remake of “The Hitcher”. Her outstanding performance for her work in “The Hitcher” won her the “Rising Star” award. She was also a three time nominee for a Teen Choice Award award for her role as Brooke Davis on “One Tree Hill”.
Sophia Bush has also been labeled one of the sexiest women by numerous magazines. In April 2007, she ranked #90 in the UK’s female magazine FHM for the top 100 sexiest women. She tanked #89 in the US version on FHM as well. In May, 2007, Sophia was ranked as #24 in Maxims Hot 100 List. She has also appeared on the front cover of Maxim along with her co-stars from Hilarie Burton and Danneel Harris from “One Tree Hill”. Sophia was also ranked #3 on Femme Fatales: The 50 sexiest Women of 2004, and #15 on Canadian Much Music’s 20 Hottest Women of 2004.
Bush tied the knot with her co-star Chad Michael Murray on April 16, 2005, who she met on the set of “One Tree Hill”. They dated for almost two years before they got married in Santa Monica. However, after only five months of marriage, she announced their separation (September 26). In December of 2006 Sophia filed for divorce. Since then, she has been dating actor Jon Foster.
